The Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet, initiated a media stir in recent days with an article claiming IDF soldiers were harvesting organs from Palestinians.
Silence is golden according to Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, the government official who insists his country’s ambassador to Israel must refrain from expressing an opinion on virulent anti-Semitic accusations in the Swedish left-wing tabloid Aftonbladet. Accusations intended as a blood-libel against all Jews and Israelis everywhere.
The article’s author Donald Boström freely admits that he has no evidence of any of his allegations but says it is up to Jews and Israelis to prove themselves innocent. An interesting if not entirely original twist – Jews are guilty until they prove themselves innocent. The basic tenets of democracy do not appear to be familiar to either Boström or Aftonbladet.
Much of the material in Boström’s article came from a book he published in 2001 Inshallah which was jointly financed by the Swedish Foreign Ministry and various other government-backed organizations.

The Aftonbladet is a left wing Swedish evening paper which published many anti Israeli and anti Semitic articles since the Yom Kippur War. I’m very disappointed with the Swedish FM Carl Bildt because he is member of the conservative Moderata Samlingspartiet which always supported Israel. 30 years ago Swedish Jews organised a group called The Swedish Friends of Likud and the Moderata Samlingspartiet supported that group. The leader of the Green Party in Sweden is Per Gahrton. He was a leading member of the Peoples Party, which was pro Israeli 30 – 40 years ago. But Per Gahrton belonged to the anti Israeli fraction of the Peoples Party and was forced to resign. Later he established the Green Party, which is a very anti Israeli and anti Semitic party. Sweden has approximately 18,000 Jewish citizens, most came from Eastern Europe like Russia, Rumania, Poland, Hungary. Our family escaped from communist Hungary to Sweden. The Jewish community is approximately 180 years old and I remember when King Carl Gustav visited the Stockholm Synagogue for the 150 anniversary of the Jewish community. Many Jews are inter-married and lost Jewish identity. I’m ashamed of the opportunistic attitude of the Swedish FM who claims that we have freedom of speech in Sweden. Yes, in a democracy we must have freedom of speech, but we can not accuse innocent people with horrible crimes. The article in the Aftonbladet was an incitement against Jews, like the Book of Zion and the Nazi propaganda. That should not be allowed in Sweden. But we should admit that Mrs Bonniers the Swedish ambassador in Israel protested against the article. (The family Bonniers is an assimilated Jewish family in Sweden.) At the end it was extra disappointment that she was ordered by the Swedish Foreign Ministry to keep quite. All of today’s newspapers in Israel dedicated double-spread pages to this issue, and reporting increasing spontaneous demand in the Israeli public to boycott Swedish brands, such as Ikea, Volvo, Absolute and others in response to what is perceived to be an official anti-Israeli, anti-Zionist stand. No. This is not Anti-Zionist or anti-Israeli. These terms today are merely “clean” politically-correct aliases to anti-Semitism. This is not an Israel-Sweden affair. It is about Sweden officially taking an anti-Semitic stand! This latest horrible accusation is made again on European soil. Their ancestors accused Jews for murdering Christian boys and using their blood for the Passover Maza bread. Isn’t this another form of harvesting human organs? Isn’t this the same ugly BEAST keeping the Swedish Minister’s mouth tightly closed? Isn’t this the same BEAST that kept the Swedish people “neutral” during the holocaust as millions of Jews and other nationalities were murdered at their border? No more IKEA, VOLVO, Absolute Vodka and other Swedish brands until Sweden officially proves to be clean of supporting and anti-Semitic actions.

This is an outrageous, libellous, blatant anti-Semitic slur against the Jewish people, period.
The Swedish Government should hang their heads in deep shame for allowing such bigoted nonsense to go unchallenged and must immediately recant and publically apologise for this heinous bigotry.
If the Australian Government were to allow such rubbish to be published in this country for instance against Islam we would have riots on our hands and be pilloried by all people of goodwill.
Sweden MUST apologise and not allow this again and be cowards remaining silent.

The late Swedish PM Olof Palme was the mother in law of the world. He use to tell all countries what to do. He was the first western leader to visit Arafat in Tunnis. Now Sweden does not want to hear a legitimate protest against anti Semitic publications in Aftonbladet. The previous Swedish socialdemocrat government refused to condemn the Mufti of Stockholm who incitet against Jews. The current Swedish conservative government refuse to take action against Aftonbladet. That is extremely disapointing becouse traditionally the conservatives were pro Israeli for decades. If Sweden can not clean up her own problems, they have no moral right to criticise other countries. Sweden should be ashamed of Aftonbladet and be ashamed of the opportunistic politicians who solicit for the Muslim votes at the next Swedish elections.

One cannot punish and entire nation and its people for the stupidity of one tabloid. It’s a tabloid; it’s not even a real newspaper!
