Interesting what Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, the reviver of Hebrew language would  have said had he met with the members of The Academy of the Hebrew Language .

Eliezer Ben-Yehuda dedicated his life to reviving the Hebrew language, into a daily spoken language. He faced the opposition of the orthodox that regarded Hebrew as holy and allowed for payer only. He regarded Hebrew and Zionism as symbiotic: “The Hebrew language can live only if we revive the nation and return it to the fatherland”.

Eliezer Ben-Yehuda’s lifetime’s project still continues thanks to the dedicated work of the Hebrew Language Academy. Modern Hebrew is constantly evolving with new words replace the outdated or added to describe new terminology as the need arises.

This is a really great post. Eliezer ben Yehuda had an immense knowledge of Hebrew down through the centuries, so that modern Hebrew fits in easily with the Hebrew of the Bible, the Mishnah, and all other forms of Hebrew for hundreds of years. He truly was a genius. God used him to revive Hebrew into a spoken language.
